Pediatric Chiropractic in Tucson AZ
It can be hard to picture a child needing chiropractic care. Kids rarely describe chronic pain the way adults do, and they seem to bounce back from anything. In reality, a growing body is under constant stress, and keeping it healthy takes maintenance.
Stress and trauma to the spine often start with birth itself — the pressure involved in both natural and Cesarean deliveries can leave an infant spine misaligned, and other than crying, a baby has no way of telling you where it hurts. Through infancy they sleep in awkward positions and take the occasional tumble. As toddlers they strain, twist and fall their way through learning to crawl and walk. They are resilient and absorb a great deal, but those small injuries can settle into movement patterns that pull a child’s bones out of alignment over time.
School-age kids add their own load: hours in front of a screen, contact sports, heavy backpacks worn the wrong way, and long days in classroom chairs. Teenagers take on jobs and physical work — painting, lifting, waiting tables — on top of everything else.
There is no shortage of opportunities during development for a child’s spine to fall out of alignment, and that alignment affects how well the rest of the nervous system does its job.
